Searching for food premises

In Environmental Health in PublicAccess, you can search for details of premises which serve food, and view details of their food hygiene rating. The main way of doing this is by searching by premises details, as detailed on this page.

You can also search for a property and view the food premises at the location and in the immediate vicinity, by selecting either the Property Search or View Map option in the menu bar. For more information, see Searching for a property. When displayed on the map, the food hygiene rating for each premises is represented by a symbol - click the Legend button for a guide to the symbols on the map.


Searching by premises details

To search for a food premises by inserting details about the premises:

  1. Within the Environmental Health module in PublicAccess, select Food Premises Search in the navigation pane.

    Alternatively, you can click the link on the Environmental Health welcome page.

  2. If you know the name of the premises, insert it in the Premises Name field. You can also insert part of the name if necessary.
  3. Select the Premises Type if known.
  4. If necessary, insert details for the property as you would when Searching for a property.
  5. Click the Search button. A list of the premises matching the criteria you inserted is displayed, with the food hygiene rating displayed for each.
  6. To view details of the premises in the Premises Details page, click the arrow button in the Click to view details column of the relevant premises.
  7. To view the premises on a map, click the globe button in the Click to view map column of the relevant premises.
